September/October is my favorite time of the year. It’s still warm (mostly), but not too. I love the vivid colors and breezes, although my enjoyment is tempered by the hell that folks on the west coast are experiencing.

Life is hard for so many; I feel grateful to be able to take a healing pause in nature. After my summer craft camps were done, my husband and I were able to take a short trip to Grand Marais earlier this month. We rented a cottage, eating and sleeping there, so we felt safe. My husband took night photos and I collected tons of rocks. It was sometimes cold and rainy but we didn’t even care.
Our new our Autumn Crafts to Take Home menu is here! Kids are back to school, even if they are schooling at home. My hope is that our Autumn crafts can provide respite from more serious pursuits, and fill the time when parents need help.
You will find new and favorite projects, all available as kits to go. I’m especially crazy about the Worry Dolls–they remind me of making spool dolls with my friend Viv when we were kids.  Check out our new seasonal Craft Packs too: four or five crafts to make at home as a family. We’ve gathered all the materials for you, plus step-by-step photo instructions to make crafting easy. More details are below and also in our craft menu.

In-store crafts are back, albeit in a limited way. We’re starting with Saturdays only, small family or pod groups of six or less. Reservations are required and we will be following our Covid-19 precautions carefully (listed on our website or look below) and limiting the number of craft groups to two. We will see how this goes and perhaps eventually add a weekday afternoon if there is demand. Safety is my first priority, followed by my desire to keep the business going while helping to fill the needs of families and other folks who love crafts.
After surveying over 40 parents via the Next Door app, I have decided not to have birthday parties in the shop at this time–just too many variables to be safe. As an alternative, families may reserve one of our Saturday in-store craft times. I am also working on a selection of crafts that can be purchased for a virtual birthday party, for the birthday child and their friends.

Thank you for your continued support of Heartfelt–we are still here!
